More November Adventures

Fun Run Fun!
We ran and ran and ran! We all had a good time.
Then we counted our laps.
It was a fun day!

Mrs. Reed went up north and brought back some fall leaves.
We had a wonderful time jumping and raking and playing in them!
It was also pj day.

Pajamas didn't stop some of us from doing somersaults into the leaf pile:

We got to meet our Artist In Residence, Jim Cogan!
He came to our room and we helped tell a story called
"The Three Bighorn Sheep," we did a great job.

We also sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider Climbed up Piestewa Peak"

Then he picked three students to be actors. Other students whispered an emotion and the student actors had to show us what that looked like.

 Angry

Sad

Cold

Our actors were great!

The next time he came we created pictures to tell the stories he told us.

We did The Farmer and the Snake and a story about a Mesquite Tree

Aristidis brought in six different kinds of apples that we'd never tried before. We learned their names and counted them in different ways before we tasted them.

Today, Monday, we did special rotations to all of the kindergarten classrooms. In our room Mrs. Goshert told us a story about a Wampanoag boy and
we made mishooks (canoes).
In Mrs. Allen's room we played and made a game called Hub Bub.
In Mrs. Reed's room we made pilgrim dolls called poppets.
In Mrs. Moore's room we made a papoose.

We have one more day to learn about Pilgrims and Wampanoags.
Next week we'll spend some time concentrating
on Folk Tales to celebrate our storyteller.
Then we'll move on to Europe!
