March Madness

We've had a wonderful month of March!
Here are some of the things we've been up to:

SILKWORMS!
Our silkworm eggs did not hatch. Mrs. Goshert decided they were too old and ordered some new worms. This is what they looked like when they came:
After Spring Break they were MUCH bigger. We each got three to take care of. We have proven to be very good parents.
Here we are cleaning our silkworm's homes.

 They poop a lot.
We know that this means they are healthy and that we're doing a great job.
We have been measuring them and writing about them.

They only eat mulberry leaves.
We like to run out to the mulberry tree to get leaves for them.
This is getting more and more difficult as there are very few low hanging branches. They eat a lot.

Here are some of us with our worms (which are actually caterpillars).

We got the birdbath and bird feeders we ordered from
Eva, Sadie and Chelsea's bake sale money.
We are currently working on finding the best place for them.

For Dr. Suess's birthday we had a "red hat" stacking center.
We've been creating some awesome stacked creations!

Last week we had an assembly with "Al, The Respect Guy".
He did some awesome magic tricks
while teaching us about respect for ourselves and others.

We've been learning about mud houses in Africa
and Native American tribes and homes.
On Friday we made adobe with dirt, water and straw.

It was very messy!
We each made an abobe brick in a milk carton.

Surprisingly, we didn't love getting our hands dirty!
Our bricks are now drying in the sun.
Later this week we will make a miniature adobe house.

Two of our artists, Davis and Amelia
had their art hung in the district art show at the mall!

We're very proud of them!

We have one more week of March and we will make the most of it!
