Oops - Mrs. Goshert neglected to post at the beginning of October, so here are a lot of pictures of our learning these past few weeks!
We learned about different kinds of maps. We really liked looking at and touching these relief maps of the US and Arizona.
Then Eva's mom and Mrs. Baker (Chelsea's grandma) helped us make our salt dough landform maps.
We had to wait for them to dry...
Then we finally got to paint and label them!
Here are some of us enjoying Friday Fun Day!
We've been learning about greater than, less than and equal to.
We used math manipulatives to make groups to show our learning.
The spinach and lettuce we planted is starting to grow!
Our gardens are amazing...
We have student council representatives that come into our class to tell us what's happening at school. Here they are telling us about box tops and upcoming spirit days. We get to ask them questions which is very entertaining and good practice for learning what a "question" is.
Thanks for all of the apple donations! We tasted them, graphed them, floated them, looked at the parts and more.
We measured ourselves with apples also:
Red delicious were are favorite!!
Here are some of our October centers.
Letters with cubes
and a QR number quest on the ipads.
We are also making mini-landform books, putting "apples" on an apple tree after we roll and number on dice
(puff balls with clothespins, good fine motor practice too).
Here we are cooperating with other kindergarteners making a huge mountain. The conversation was very cute!
Our garden parent, Mrs. Patchett helped take a little visitor out of the preschool room. She brought it to us to check out. We loved it!
On Friday we had an extra long free choice time while we worked on a special project. We put our hands in paint and started class t-shirts.
Thanks to Eva, Eli and Sadie's moms for the help. We will have these t-shirts to wear when we go on field trips and for other special events at school. We made sure to use blue and gold so we can wear them on a spirit day!
Allie, Chelsea and Mrs. Goshert marched with lots of other friends in the SMHS Homecoming Parade! We got to see many of our classmates.
Next week will be a fun two day week.
