January fun and learning!

We continue to enjoy dressing up in winter clothing.
The weather has been perfect for this activity!

Some of us really like trying different outfits!

Here are some pictures of our Tacky the Penguin play!

The "thieves" even came into the audience!

Afterwards we got to learn about acting and play games with the actors!

Our 100th day of school was lots of fun!
Here are some of the things we did.

100 lego block creations
 100 connecting blocks

100 wooden blocks
 100 dixie cups
 100 dominos
 100 seashells

 100 chain links
We compared, weighed and counted the collections of 100 items that some of us brought in.

We made crowns with 100 stickers on them.

We made snacks with 100 pieces in them.

We read The Mitten, then estimated how many of us would fit into our giant mitten.

More magnet magic

One of Mrs. Goshert's former students, Xaiden, came in and read to us. He is in 2nd grade.
He read Pig and Pug,
a very funny book that he got at the book fair. He did a great job and then he let us keep the book!

That's all for now!

End of December, Happy 2017!

When we came back it was 2017! We did a countdown outside, blew horns and had our pictures taken. We wrote resolutions or things we'd like to do in 2017.

In our centers we are trying on winter clothing.
We made a list of the kind of clothes we wear in winter.

We got to harvest some carrots, they were yummy!

Mrs. Goshert's special friend, Hannah (Mrs. Ashby's daughter who went to kindergarten in the room Mrs. Allen is in now) came in to talk to us about Antarctica. She works on a cruise ship that just went there. She showed us a video with lots of amazing animals and other things on it.

We made and read sight word sentences!

Some of our students made a plan to have a bakery to make money to help our school. After lots of planning and with the help of their parents they made their dream come true by having a sale. They were able to raise $44 and donated it to our classroom! We are planning to use it to buy a birdfeeder or something like that for our Pershing Patio!

Luke went to a ski racing competition and won these medals
that he brought in to show us!

In our centers we are pretending to be Emperor Penguins by trying to walk while holding an egg on our feet. It's tricky but some of us can do it!

That's all for now, happy new year!
